Face The Question CONTEST!

No, this illustration is not incomplete. The Question is a comic book character whose mask makes him appear faceless.

Which brings me to my first ever CONTEST! Draw a face for the Question over this illustration (just right click, save, alter in Photoshop, Illustrator, Paint, print and pencil over it, draw on your monitor and take a Polaroid...whatever!) and send your result, along with your name and address to bubbashelby@gmail.com. Make sure you title your email with "Face The Question" in the subject line.

Sometime in November I will pick my favorite entry and I will send this signed, original Question ATC card to the winner!

Godzilla!

Today's post on ToyRiffic was Godzilla themed, so I figured it'd be fun to do an ATC of the big city-smashing atomic powered lizard here on my art blog.

I haven't drawn Godzilla in a long time, so it was fun to put this one together, and to try to capture his enormity in a 2.5" x 3.5" space.

Frankie!

Like a murderous malformed monstrosity, Halloween 2008 is nearly upon us!

In celebration, I've decided that every illustration I post in October will be Halloween themed! Yay!

And as a teaser, I've created this little ATC of Frank. I'm currently reading Frankenstein (the original by Mary Shelley) for the first time in my life so I've got Frank on the brain lately.

You may see more Frankenstein themed pieces in October, but in the meantime help me out by throwing out some Halloween character ideas in the comments section. Horror isn't exactly my scene, and I wouldn't want to run out of ideas by October 12th! ;)

Riddle Me This, Batman:

I remember when word got out that Robin Williams was pegged to play The Riddler in Batman Forever. Then Jim Carrey did something that made him the talk of tinsel-town (probably that bit with him talking out his butt) and he ended up playing a poor imitation of Frank Gorshin.

People are today buzzing about the potential of a future Riddler, with the role possibly going Johnny Depp or David Tennant (who, if anyone is asking, has my vote.)

Only time will tell.

In the meantime, I can draw him all I want!
