Art Imitates Life Imitates Art

Have you ever noticed those drug ads for pills with names that sound like something out of the old Masters of the Universe cartoons?

Crestor

Spiriva

Lunesta

Xanax

Yeah, well so did I. In fact, I've been joking with people for years about how the names they conjure up for these drugs sound like a graduating class from He-Man High School.

I even went so far as to design a few characters:

So imagine my surprise today to discover that someone has in fact made an allergy medicine and has actually used the name of an honest to God Masters of the Universe character!

Zodac...

...meet Zodac...

I did not make this up or photoshop that package, that is a real Hayfever medicine which appears to be available in Australia.

Am I the only one who finds this hilarious?

Brilliant! I think I need to start taking a daily dose of Stratos, for my air allergies.

lol @ Reis

True that. I have a bad case of Trap Jaw and could really use a salve or something.

OMG, that is so dame true! When I see those commercials, I think to myself "What [insert Hanna-Barbera cartoon here] villain are they going to name those pills after next?"

I like to use their names for my science-fantasy role-playing games - often jokingly, like Prozac the Mad, or Enzyte the Endowed. ;)

Malcadon, I am glad to know I am not the only one who thinks this way!

Enzyte the Endowed - he was on Space Ghost wasn't he? ;)

Yeah, but for reasons unknown he was only animated from the waist up. He was one of those mediocre and forgettable villains, so common in Space Ghost. But for a campy 60's cartoon villain, he was a bit of a dick! ;P

Oh! It's, Nicki. What was your inspiration in making Xanax a big tough guy?
