The second to last Girl-oween post for Halloween Countdown 2010 is none other than the demonically possessed '58 Plymouth Fury herself, the infamous Christine.

Christine has the unique distinction of not only being Girl-oween Day 30, but she also fits into my 'Super-Cars' series as Super-Car #12.

In addition, Christine made an appearance here on 'Art by Bubba Shelby' during Halloween Countdown 2008!

She's one popular girl.

But not quite popular enough to be my Halloween Day post.

Supercar #11 - Hey there, it's Yogi Bear!

Back during the beginning of October (and therefore not mentioned throughout my Halloween Countdown) I did a piece for a new collaborative art blog I am a (procrastinating) part of, called "the pop project." My first piece combined my love of cartoons and cars with Yogi Bear driving an old Willys Jeep.

I was never a huge fan of the cartoon, but the movie looks like fun. I needed to draw something today, and I couldn't resist adding 'ol Speed Racer and his powerful Mach 5 to my Super Cars series!

Supercar # 8.5: Harley Quinn

This one comes from another request. I took it in a little different direction than all my Supercars to date, so I decided it only counts as a ".5"

I may revisit the concept and apply the true "Supercar" formula at a later date, but for now here's Harley Quinn in an out of control bumper car! Wheeee!

My friend Matt has created an old guy superhero named Golden Age. I wanted to do a little tribute, and of course came up with the Golden Rod - your typical old guy mid seventies land yacht - complete with curb feelers!

Heath Ledger, Rest In Peace (Supercar #4)

The sad news came as a shock to me and the world today, not unlike a joy buzzer, but without the joy. The actor Heath Ledger has died.

I have seen the "bank heist" prologue for The Dark Knight, and I have never been more impressed with or excited for an actor's performance as I have been with Mr. Ledger's portrayal of The Joker.

Lately I have been focusing on my Super-Car series of drawings. I had considered adding villains to my series, so when I heard the news about Heath, I had to draw The Joker. This image is more of the essence of The Joker. Sometimes funny, sometimes scary, always iconic.

With his role in The Dark Knight Mr. Ledger is sure to wow audiences and add another tier to that American icon - sadly it will now be done posthumously.

Rest In Peace Heath Ledger.

There's a classic Hotwheel Chevy Van that depicts the character Thor on it's side. I used the basic yellow Chevy Van vehicle for my Thor-mobile as an homage to that classic toy.

Supercar #1: The Plas-Mobile!

Plastic Man is a superhero that can not only stretch, but can turn his body into the shape of anything his mind desires. I remember really digging the Plastic Man cartoon as a kid. Here's an illustration of Plastic Man in a Rat Fink type Hot Rod pose. Burn plastic!
